About

Meet Dani Mac

 

Dani Mac is a fight and intimacy director.

Trained in Musical Theatre at ArtsEd, and in acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Dani was hooked on theatrical combat from the moment she picked up a sword. She completed advanced training with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC) and apprenticed under a fight master with the Academy of Performance Combat (APC). She is also trained in martial arts with the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB) and has trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC).

From riot scenes to medieval battles, from bare-fist to broadswords, Dani has experience working with actors of all abilities. She particularly thrives in creating spectacular group fight scenes and loves fitting fight choreography to music. She has extensive experience working with dancers and actor-musicians.

Fight direction credits include: Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale World Tour, GWB Entertainment; Robin Hood, As You Like It, Sweet Charity, Taming of the Shrew, and The Rivals for The Watermill Theatre; Romeo and Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing for Reading Between the Lines Theatre Company; Henry I of England, Henry II, and Macbeth for RABBLE Theatre.

As an Intimacy Director Dani trained with the IDC. Credits Include: Lord of the Rings World Tour, GWB Entertainment; Henry I of England, Henry II, Macbeth, RABBLE Theatre.
